ICEBAR Orlando is a unique Orlando bar & attraction featuring over 50 tons of carved ice. The bar is located on International Drive and caters mainly to tourists and convention guests.
In 2013, ICEBAR Orlando was running into issues with online conversion. Their current website looked very nice; however, with the tens of thousands of visitors coming to the site, the conversion rate was surprisingly low.
Our team met with the General Manager and discovered – after in-depth review of their web analytics – that the problem was a lack of mobile-friendly usability. ICEBAR had a great foundation and fantastic traffic already coming to their website, but was not getting enough conversions because most of their potential patrons were using mobile devices to find fun things to do in Orlando during vacations and convention show visits. Their website was very frustrating to navigate on a cell phone, so we re-designed and re-structured the website to target local searches from tourists on mobile devices and to bring in profitable corporate event leads. The first three months, there was slow but steady growth in attendance and corporate event leads.
In 2014, corporate event leads started pouring in. At the end of the year, the bar hit its first major milestone: corporate event revenues generated from the website surpassed the revenues of the bar. Today, ICEBAROrlando.com brings in tens of thousands of visitors from all over the world and dozens of corporate event leads per month.
